Cristina Tyley

IMG_2165Name: Cristina Tyley How long have you been in Triathlon: 4 years when I did my first Sprint triathlon at QE2, Ashington. Greatest achievement in Triathlon: Completing my first Ironman in 12 hours 10 minutes, but just completing it was enough! Greatest achievement outside of Triathlon: Cycling 1000 miles from Lands’ End to John O Groats with 5 others for St Oswald’s Hospice in 2014, the sense of achievement at the end of those long 12 days was overwhelming and I made friends for life on that journey. What you love about F4L Triathlon Coaching and what attracted you to us in the first place: I love that the coaches are experts in their field, friendly and the training plans are tailored to your Triathlon goals, lifestyle, and take into account injuries and how best to cross train around them. I was first attracted when I heard about (and later experienced) the fantastic training facilities on offer at the Tri Camp in Mallorca and how full and varied the training schedule was for me. It taught me so much especially about swim technique which is my least natural ability sport. Paul is fantastic at swim coaching and brought me on a lot on one week. What are your targets in Triathlon over next two years: Now that my Ironman goal is achieved with a lot of injuries endured through the process I would like to focus on building on good technique, concentrating on a lot of core and stretching work to get me in a good position to begin next year strong and would like to work on my speed over shorter distances. I enjoyed the 70.3 distance and perhaps would like to also attempt another next year knowing what I’ve learnt from doing long distance this year. A podium finish in 2016 would be a dream come true whether it be Sprint, Standard or Half. I am yet to sign up for any events and getting back to injury free is my primary goal. In one line sum up F4L Triathlon Coaching: Fun, challenging, realistic, achievable, and supportive, I have made so many friends and we support each other through our achievements
