Junior Triathlon Sessions – F4L Kids Triathlon Coaching

6th and 7th October 2016

Perth Hills Children's TriathlonWelcome to our Perth Hills Children's Triathlon Sessions. This two day program will focus on the fundamental skills of swimming, transition & bike skills and running. The training sessions will be based at Maida Vale Swimming Pool. There are 2 sessions each day; session 1: triathlon swimming and session 2: transition preparation & bike skills and running. Sessions will be limited to a maximum number of participants and led by F4L qualified coaches.

Swimming Coaching Session - 1 hour, 2:00pm, age 7-16.

Points that will be covered;
  • Water familiarisation
  • In water confidence
  • Body positioning
  • Breathing
  • Race starts
  • Open water swimming turns
  • Swim sighting
*Please note children must be able to swim 100m freestyle without stopping

Transition Preparation, Bike Skills and Running Technique Coaching Session - 1 hour 30 min, 3:30pm - 5:00pm, age 7-16.

Points that will be covered;
  • Bike set up, including what you should have in a race
  • Transition set up for T1
  • How to speed up T1 times
  • How to make the most out of your transition space
  • Transiton set up for T2
  • How to speed up T2 times, including flying dismount techniques
  • Making a smooth transition during the race
  • Mount & dismount practice
  • Bike cornering
  • Gear changing and braking
  • Race simulation
  • 1 day (either 6th or 7th October): $20
  • Both Sessions (6th and 7th October): $35
(cost includes pool entry) If you wish to take part in any of these sessions, please email: info@f4lcoaching.com If your child is aged 12-19 years and they are quite experienced in Triathlon then check out our Perth Hills Junior Triathlon Academy! There will be a 30 minute break between sessions, this will be used for changing, switching venues (300m apart) and an interaction session between others in the group. The session will be lead by one or more of our qualified coaches.
