Taking on an IRONMAN or triathlon in 2027? Build the season around your life, not the other way around.
Personalised coaching from Paul Jones — British Triathlon Level 3 & IRONMAN Certified Coach with over 20 years' experience turning first-timers and age-groupers into finishers.
Consistency. Sustainability. Balance.
Three pillars, not three buzzwords. Every 2027 training plan is built on all three — because a plan you can't sustain around work and family isn't a plan, it's a countdown to burnout.
Consistency
Small, repeatable sessions beat heroic ones. Your plan is built around the training you can actually do week after week, not the training that looks good on paper.
Sustainability
No plans built to break you before race day. Training load progresses at a pace your body and your life can absorb, all the way to your 2027 start line.
Balance
Family first, work second, training third — and still race-ready. Your coach works around shift patterns, deadlines and school runs, not despite them.
Paul Jones
Paul has been coaching triathletes for over twenty years, working full-time as a professional coach since 2009. He holds the British Triathlon Level 3 High Performance Coach award and is an IRONMAN Certified Coach — qualifications built on top of two decades guiding athletes to Hawaii IRONMAN, 70.3 World Championships, and World & European Age Group medals.
Whatever your 2027 goal — your first sprint triathlon or your first full IRONMAN — your plan starts with a conversation about your life, not a generic template.
"I'm going to commit myself to you as an athlete — but in return I expect athletes to maintain a similar commitment. Every session is part of a plan you've worked out and agreed in advance with your coach."

Built by athletes juggling real life
Two years in with Paul as her coach, Jennifer credits him with the accountability and structure that let her balance IRONMAN training with a busy family and working life — and says she's excited to keep pushing further with him in her corner.
Clare says Paul takes the time to understand her as a person, not just an athlete — tailoring sessions around a busy lifestyle while still giving the direct technical feedback she needed to hit her goals.
Sophy had been feeling stuck with her own training. She describes Paul's coached plan as giving her the structure, motivation, and race-day confidence she'd been missing.

Takes under a minute. Paul replies personally.
Whether it's an IRONMAN, triathlon, or Olympic event, a coach helps you get there far more efficiently than going it alone. Your plan is personalised and built to work around whatever barriers you're facing.
Never. One F4L athlete completed her first ever IRONMAN at 70.
Yes. F4L has coached nurses, midwives, firefighters and many other shift workers to their goals. Your plan is built around your actual availability, not a fixed weekly template.
Many athletes who train alone underperform on race day, get sick before the event, or pick up an injury in training. A personalised, sustainable plan is how you fix that — and most F4L athletes end up training fewer hours while racing faster.
Constant support via WhatsApp and email, plus your training delivered through TrainingPeaks (a Premium account is included in the monthly IRONMAN Performance Coaching package).
That's exactly what the enquiry conversation is for. Whether it's your first sprint triathlon or stepping up to a full IRONMAN, Paul will help you identify the right target for where you are now.
